With their dominant 11-2 win over Mason on Saturday, January 22, 2022, Beavercreek’s 2021-2022 team achieved 13 consecutive winds, breaking the previous record of 12. Both senior Captain Thomas bush and junior Joey Donahue logged hat tricks, with the other goals scored by junior Riley Hanson (2), junior Owen Huff (1), senior Danny Pearl (1), and sophomore Mason Washburn (1). Senior Ben Duford and sophomore Ian Champagne split the game in net. With this victory, Creek has a stellar 18-2-1 record so far this season.
Creek also honored our uniformed military and veterans with their patriotic jerseys and recognition of military family members from both teams and those in the crowd. The team was especially grateful for our special guest, U.S. Air Force Colonel Joel Luker, who performed a ceremonial puck drop. A longtime hockey player and Beavercreek sponsor, test pilot Col. Luker has flown in 50 combat aircraft in his 27 years of service to our nation.
Next game will be this Friday, January 28, 2022, at 7pm at South Metro Sports vs Springboro, where the Beavers will endeavor to extend the record to 14!
